The history of Pusignan and its heritage: Once upon a time there was a small Gallic village on this hill of morainic origin. Some thatched houses with one piece, comfort was relative, but one lived free, cultivating wheat, practicing breeding, hunting and gathering. Then came the Roman occupation.Years passed, and in 1389 King Charles VII gave permission to demolish the ancient "Old Chatel".
In June 1430, the castle was mixed with an event of great importance, the future of the Dauphine.
In 1573, the descendants of Aymar de Poisieu sold the seigniory of Pusignan to François de Costaing, lord of the palace.
In 1689, Louis XIV decided to help James II of England to reconquer his throne by sending an expeditionary force to Ireland. Claude Costaing of Pusignan commanded the infantry with the title of Field Marshal.
